Damaging symptoms: dead heart offensive smell, larva attack generally side tiller than main or mature side shoot.
Identification:
- Egg: single on the upper and lower surface of the leaf.
- Larva: creamy white with yellowish head
- Pupa: inside root, soil
- Adult: brown, 2 black spots on forewings.
Management:
- Egg parasitoid: Trichogramma chilonis
- Larval parasitoid: echelons spp, stenbraccon seesaw
- Pupal parasitoid: Ichneumonidae
- Pheromone trap
- Chlorpyrifos 20EC ,carbofuran (1.5 kg/ha)
- Neem seed kernel extract 10%
