Litchi bug ( Tessaratoma papillose, Pentatomidae, Hemiptera)
Damaging stage: Nymph and Adult
Damaging symptom:
- Sucksapfromsmallfruitsand
- Flower Base of leaf, flowerandpeduncle
- Flower and fruit dropping.
Identification
- Egg: green color, cluster, upper leaf surface
- Nymph: first bluish brown and turn reddish blue
- Adult: reddish brown.
Management
- Practice field sanitation, the adult and nymphs can be collected by shaking the trees and removing the dense bushes and large trees around the periphery of the litchi orchard.
- Use any systemic nature of pesticides to control them.
