About Lesson

– Its purpose is to enable the growers to market their produce at better prices, followed by the intention of securing better marketing services and ultimately contributing to improvement in the standard of living of members.

 

-Marketing cooperatives are organized upon the concept of returning earnings from activities related to marketing of farm products to the farmer-members.

 

– It is involved in the first stage of marketing activities at the farm gate on the behalf of their members.

 

– Some cooperatives go one or more steps further into the food processing of manufacturing stage, ie. Vertically integrate forward, attempting to capture the margins of high value-added activities.
