The farmers-to-farmer extension system

• Under this program, promising technologies are tested and validated in the field of experienced leader farmers.
• The better-performed technologies are disseminated through farmers in their communities.
• Experience leader farmer serves as a resource person, extension agent, and agriculture development facilitator.
• The resource person is an innovative farmer who is willing to share his/her knowledge of agriculture with his/her neighborhood and community at a reasonable cost of services.
• The resource persons are developed under different series of training and filed coaching by program staff and line agencies.
• The resource person is also used for planning, and prioritizing the agriculture activities in the VDC.
• This extension approach has continued to prove itself as an effective means of reaching poor and disadvantaged farmers in all parts of the district.
