About Lesson
Phi-coefficient
- Is used to measure effect size and strength of relationship.
- Is measure of association between two binary variables.
- Is used for contingency tables, when
a) At least one variable is a normal variable
b) Both variables are dichotomous variable.
- Is used to calculate two opposite behaviors of a variable. Eg: White/ Black , Living/Dead, Success / Failure, etc.
Note:
- Correlation : To find relationship between two continuous variables.
- Regression : To find relationship between all types of variables ( Dependent and independent).
- Phi-coefficient: To find relationship between two binary variables.
