Classification of lipid

a. Fat and Oils:

  • Monoacyl glycerol, diacylglycerol, and triacyl glycerol.

b. Fat soluble vitamin:

  • A, D, E, K

c. Fatty acid derivative:

  • Leucotriens, Prostaglandin, Prostacyclins, Thromboxanes

 

d. Glycerolipid:

  • Lecithin, Cephalin, Phosphatidyl Serine, and Phosphatidyl Inositol.

 

e. Sphingolipids:

  • Plasmalogen, Cardiolipin, Sphingophospholipid and Glycolipid

 

f. Steroids:

  • Cholesterol, Bile salts, Steroid hormones ( Glucocrticoides, Mineralocorticoids, Androgen, Estrogen, Progesterone).
