Climatic requirement :

A) Temperature :

  • It requires 20-25 0C for germination & growth.

 

B) Sunlight :

  • It is a light-loving plant.
  • So, bright sunny days coupled with sufficient moisture are favorable for better growth, development, and yield.

 

C) Soil Requirement :

  • Structure: Thrives well in arable and well-drained soil structure.

 

 

D) Rainfall :

  • Its drought-tolerant crop
  • Can be grown in regions having annual rainfall between 500-1000 mm.
  • In regions having higher annual rainfall, it is cultivated by transplanted method.
