Sowing method :
a) Broadcasting :
- By hand or seed spreader.
- It is the most common and easiest method in Nepal.
- Here, no uniformity is seen in spacing, sowing depth, and plant population.
- No uniformity in germination and crop stand establishment.
b) Sowing behind the plough :
- Kera method: Seed is dropped by hand on a furrow opened by the local plow.
- Pora method: Seeds are dropped by pora or nair attached with a local plow.
c) Drilling :
- Done by seed drill machine under CT, MT, or ZT conditions.
d) Dibling :
- Placing seed in a hole made by a driller, peg, or hand.
- Consumes more time and labor.
- It requires less speed as compared to other methods.
