Damaging stage: larva
Damaging symptoms: scrap the green parts of leaves, in severe condition only leaves midribs and cross vein and completely skeletonized the jute plants.
Identification
- Egg: underside of leaves
- Larva: yellow hairy and brownish
- Pupa: soil,
- Adult: brown color, black spot on wings.
Management
- Make trench and irrigate.
- Egg parasitoid:trichogramma chionis @50000-1000000
- Larval parasitoids: Meteorus spilosomae (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) and Protapantales obliquae (Hymenoptera: Braconidae).
