Damaging stage: larvae (maggot)
Damaging symptoms:
- Mining of upper leaf surface which is white in appearance.
Identification
Egg: laying an egg inside the leaf
Larvae: yellow-orange maggots are present inside the leaf. Pupa: also inside the leaf
Adult: Bright yellow central area of scutellum, bright yellow area of head and pleura.
Management
- Collection and destroy.
- Mass trapping
- Apply fine ash of lLantanacamera
- Yellow sticky trap coated with chlorpyrifos
- Spray systemic
