Scarlet mite ( Brevipalpus californicus: Acarina, Tennipalpidae)

  • Eggs are bright red and oval sticky with the ventral surface of the leaf.
  • Nymphs are flat bodies, oval in outline and scarlet in color.

 

Symptoms

  • Feed leaves sap by scarping
  • Brown discoloration of leaves.
  • The bark and leaf petiole of the affected shoot turn brown and dry.
