Insect Monitoring techniques

Monitoring for insets is an essential part of successful integrated pest management programs. Correct identification of immature and adult stages of both pests and beneficial and accurate assessment of their presence in the field at various crop stages will ensure appropriate and timely management decisions. Good monitoring procedure involves not only knowledge of and the ability to identify the insects present but also good recording techniques and a healthy dose of common sense.
