Adopters’ categories and their characteristics
a) Innovators: Willing to take risks and have close contact with scientific sources and other innovators.
b) Early adopters: Have higher social status, financial liquidity, advanced education, and more socially forward.
c) Early Majority: Adopts innovation after a varying degree of time and has average social status, contacts with early adopters, and holds positions of opinion leadership in a system.
d) Late Majority: Approach the system with a high degree of skepticism and have below-average social status, little financial liquidity, and contact with the above people.
e) Laggards: Last to adopt innovation, dislike change, and focus on traditional norms, with the lowest social status and financial liquidity.
