About Lesson
  • AKIS can be defined as the “person, networks, and institutions and the interfaces and linkages between them, which engage in or manage the generation, transformation, transmission, storage, retrieval, integration, diffusion and utilization of knowledge and information, and which potentially work synergistically to improve goodness of fit between knowledge, and environment and the technology used in agriculture.”
  • The idea underlying AKIS is that farmers use many different sources to obtain the knowledge and information they need to manage their farms and that new knowledge is developed not only by research institute but also by many different actors.
