Purpose of Participatory monitoring and evaluation

  • to build the local capacity of project stakeholders to get involved to reflect, analyze, and to make more informed decisions;
  • to learn from experience, adjust, and take affirmative action to ensure the achievement of on-going activities;
  • to be stakeholders accountable and actively participate at all levels from the community, and organizational level to those responsible for the implementation
  • to share experiential learning and build on what is working and locally relevant. It is learning from experience.
