Present research status

• National Oilseed Research Program (NORP), Nawalpur, Sarlahi: the sole responsible organization for oilseed research and development.
• Established in April 14, 1976 (2nd Baishakh, 2033BS) as National Oilseed Development Program and after the inception of NARC in 1990 (2048 BS), it was renamed to NORP.

Objectives

• Collection, conservation, characterization, assessment and utilization of indigenous and exotic oilseed genetic resources.
• Development and conduction of applied and adaptive problem solving and potential exploration researches on oilseed and generate varieties, PoP, disease and insect pest control measures.
• Collaborate and coordinate with agriculture research stations.
• Development of technologies that minimize or prevent the pre- and post-harvest losses and enhance the oil quality.
• Production of breeder and foundation seeds.
• Publish research findings and recommendations of latest technologies.
