Characteristics of Class Chilopoda:

Chilopods are quick-moving predators with poison glands which possess:

a) Terrestrial in habitat, the body is long, flattened, and multi-segmented

b) 1 pair of legs per body segment

c) 1 pair of antennae

d) 1st pair of legs modified into venomous “fangs”

e) Animals are unisexual. E.g. centipedes
