  • It includes chimera. These are called devil fishes. Chimaera also called king of Herrings, Chimara
  • Deep sea and carnivorous fishes.
  • The endoskeleton is cartilaginous.
  • Gills are in 4 pairs with operculum.
  • Teeth are in the form of grinding plates.
  • There is no cloaca.
  • Skin is usually naked with denticles found over the head and claspers.
