About Lesson
Processes in reproduction
- During the breeding season, the germinal epithelium of the ovary undergoes oogenesis and produces a large number of ova, and thus the ovary gets folded.
- The germ cells (Stroma) present in ovarian follicles form oogonium which finally converts to ova via primary and secondary oocytes and this process is known as oogenesis.
- The process of formation of Yolk in eggs is called vitellogenesis.
- The yolk is formed by vitellogenin (synthesis in the river in the presence of sex steroids), a calcium-binding lipophosphoprotein.
