Difference between dry land farming and rainfed farming

Dry land farming

Rainfed farming

1. Cultivation of crops in areas receiving below 750 mm annual rainfall is dry land farming.

1. Cultivation of crops in areas receiving above 750 mm annual rainfall is rainfed farming.

2. There may be the shortage of moisture to the crops and crop failure is frequent

3. Crop growing season is short i.e below 200 days only.
