Introduction
- Generally social mobilization conducted in four stages: institutional, project planning, implementation and evaluation
- The initial goal of social mobilization is the creation of democratically self-governed community organization, which then take responsibility for and gain control over the development of the community.
- To be successful and have the greatest impact on poverty reduction, these organization must meet the criteria of good governance at any level.
- Ownership, or genuine participation by all members
- Equity or the sharing of benefits of development among all members, especially the most deprived
- Transparency, ensured through consensus-based decision making and transparent accounting system
- Accountability, whereby every member takes responsibility for decision made by the group
