Migration, foreign employment and remittance

  • Migration is the process of people’s movement from one place/location to the other.
  • Take the case of USA, which is a country filled with migrated people. It is said that had USA not been a country filled with migratory people, it would not be prosperous to this level in the world.
  • The other countries in the world such as Australia, New Zealand and Canada all are well developed in terms of per capital production, earnings as well as physical infrastructure development.
  • The Nepalese economy is increasingly becoming dependent on remittance sent home by migrant workers. At a time when the country’s major economic indicators do not display a good picture, remittances have played a vital role in keeping the economy afloat.
