Objectives of rural development
- Increasing employment:
- As the labor force increases in size, opportunities must be available to those seeking employment not only in the rural sector but in the urban sector as well.
- This will require not only the improvement of human resources but also the mobilization of savings from income generated by the rural sector, and investments in rural development projects.
- Increasing efficiency:
- Increasing the efficiency of resource utilization and consequently resources productivity through improved technology is a prerequisite in dealing with poverty effectively.

- Maintaining sustainability:
